If you have never cooked on a cast iron before it can take a while to get use to so today I thought I’d bring you some good tips to start you in the right direction. One of the biggest problems people do when cooking with fire is make the fire way to big. Try and make the fire pit the size of your pan. Their is no need for any bigger or you will just be wasting energy. Second make sure the grate you are using is not to high from the fire again so you are not wasting energy. You want to make sure that the fire is directly under the pan so that your getting the most out of the wood you are using. If you make it to big most of the flames with just be burning and not heating anything. Plus make sure you use small pieces of wood and make sure you break them before cooking so you can just throw them in when needed and not have to deal with it while cooking! Next I always keep a few extra rocks near by Incase it gets windy to kinda wrap around the pan on the grate to act as a wind block so it doesn’t blow your fire out the side and again waste your flame. I hope these tips helped you guys out and if you have any more questions about cast iron just ask in the comments and I’ll get back to you! Thanks for watching!
