The National Wild Turkey Federation Gears Up for its 49th Annual Convention in Nashville
The National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) is preparing to host its 49th annual Convention and Sport Show at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee. The event, sponsored by Mossy Oak, is expected to surpass last year’s record-breaking attendance of over 72,000 participants.
Running from February 12-16, 2025, this year’s convention boasts a large showcase featuring over 500 exhibitors across the outdoor industry. The main exhibit hall will open from February 13-15, offering folks access to the latest turkey hunting gear, equipment, and expertise.
“As winter wanes and the incoming spring turkey season gets that much closer, our National Convention and Sport Show is the perfect time to get excited for the outdoor obsession that we cherish,” says NWTF co-CEO Jason Burckhalter. “It is a time for our volunteers, partners, and staff from all corners of the country to gather in one place and become energized for delivering on our mission.”
A highlight of the convention is the HuntStand-sponsored Grand National Wild Turkey and White-Tailed Deer Taxidermy Competition, where master taxidermists showcase their talents in bringing harvested animals to life. Visitors can see stunning displays of strutting gobblers with puffed chests, impressive beards, and dramatic scenes of predator-prey interactions. These meticulously crafted pieces represent the pinnacle of taxidermy artistry, offering hunters a way to permanently capture their most cherished moments in the field.
The event will also feature other prestigious Grand National competitions for call makers and turkey callers, as well as the new “Ask a Biologist” event, which will provide attendees with direct access to NWTF wild turkey biologists for expert guidance and discussion.
For those planning to attend, early registration sponsored by Chêne begins Tuesday, February 11, at 8 a.m. The convention concludes with the Grand National Auction on Saturday night, followed by a worship service on Sunday morning.
Admission pricing makes the event accessible to all outdoor enthusiasts. Current NWTF members receive complimentary admission, while nonmember adult tickets are $35 and include an annual NWTF membership. Youth tickets (ages 10-17) are available for $10 and include an annual NWTF JAKES membership. Children under 10 and military personnel with ID can attend free of charge. After February 12, nonmember admission increases to $50.
Established in 1973, the NWTF has invested over half a billion dollars in wildlife conservation and improved more than 24 million acres of critical wildlife habitat. The organization continues its mission through its Four Shared Values: clean and abundant water, healthy forests and wildlife habitat, resilient communities, and robust recreational opportunities.
For outdoor enthusiasts, conservationists, and turkey hunters alike, the 2025 NWTF Convention and Sport Show represents an unparalleled opportunity to connect with the broader hunting and conservation community while supporting the future of wildlife conservation.
