Here at the Dyrt we’re the only app that has it all, from dispersed sites to national parks, to glampgrounds. This week we announced our Glampy Award winners, recognizing the best glamping locations across the US. Winners span from to Idaho and from covered wagons to geodesic star-viewing domes. What these spots all have in common is offering an incredible outdoor experience that we think might convert even the most loyal tent campers (for at least one night).

Today in the Dyrt Digest, we share some ways to save on summer gear, good news for a popular National Park, and an enhanced stove system for your morning coffee.

The Hoh Rainforest to Reopen

The Hoh Rainforest is a secluded piece of the environmentally diverse and absolutely beautiful Olympic National Park. Since the end of 2024 this area has been closed to visitors due to the one road being washed out. Now Washington Governor has announced that the state will make use of unclaimed lottery funds to repair the road, with the fix potentially being completed as soon as May. This decision is heavily impacted by summer tourism which would be impacted by this iconic attraction being closed, and we, for one, can’t wait to visit once the road is back!

An Upgrade to Your Stove System

CampingMy very first camp stove was a classic fastboil. The compact and lightweight system boils water with ease, and with a range of other accessories can be used to cook in a pot or pan. It’s a much beloved system for backpackers and when car camping I’ve essentially used it as my kettle for a never-ending stream of coffee, hot chocolate and hot toddies. Now, has announced that they’ve enhanced this line of products. Key upgrades include a re-engineered ignition system and a new textured grip zone for ease of connecting the cook pot to the base. The Flash 1.0L, Flash 1.0L, and Zip 0.8L are out now, and will be compatible with all the existing accessories, and I for one will be thrilled to try them out!
