Join me for a relaxing solo wild camping trip beneath my DD 3×3 tarp in a peaceful woodland in England. An overnight bushcraft camp with campfire cooking, natural woodland sounds and rain throughout the night and following morning.
I start by setting up my tarp shelter, making wooden pegs with my axe and building a simple log fire reflector. Using silver birch bark, bracken and a ferro rod, I get the campfire going and settle in for an evening surrounded by nature.
There’s plenty of campfire cooking on this trip, including a ribeye steak with garlic potatoes, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes and peppercorn sauce, all cooked outdoors in my OneTigris wok.
Just as I turn off the lights and settle down for the night, the rain arrives. It continues throughout the night and following morning, when it’s time to relight the fire, enjoy a fresh coffee, cook bacon muffins for breakfast and eventually pack everything away in the rain.
As always, there’s no talking — just the natural sounds of wild camping, bushcraft, crackling firewood, cooking and rainfall.
