There are two general categories of the various types of compasses that outdoorsmen and survivalists most frequently carry: larger( generally) land transportation compaxes and smaller public direction complases. The original include lensatic and baseplates( with or without a case ), while the latter include general direction buttons, rod magnets, and various SERE compasses. Some of these are just built small much or in formfactors to be readily concealed, while others are disguised as other objects. The latter smaller common direction compasses are the subject of this article.
