Experimental camp cooking at its finest! 🏕️
I’ve spent years smoking meats in professional rigs at home, but out here, you have to improvise. I used a double-burner grill over the fire pit and a perforated SPAM can to try and catch that smoke flavor using nothing but smoldering dried leaves and twigs.
The smoke hit the surface well, though it didn’t quite penetrate the center—still, it was a tasty win for a minimalistic setup!
In this video:
DIY SPAM smoking method (perforated can technique).
Putting my 15-year-old Silky saw to work (blunt, but it got the job done!).
A quick visitor: a small yellow-breasted bird (Any ideas on the ID?).
Keeping warm by the campfire.
