In This Video I Guide You On How to maximize your time in the kitchen to make delicious Shabbat foods in just 1 hour. A typical Shabbat takes me a good few hours to prepare for on Thursday and Friday. We aren’t hosting anyone this Shabbat so I decided to take a well deserved break and keep it simple, but definitely not skimping on the flavor.
Shabbat Menu:
~Shabbat Fish- Gefilta Fish With a Moroccan Twist
~Fried flounder served with white sauce
Shabbat Rice- Sirkanis- A rice & chickpea dish with loads of flavor that gets finished off with garlic oil 😋
~Shabbat Meat- Lamb with baby potatoes and radishes
~Sephardic Shabbat Osvo- A flavorful stew that gets cooked overnight and served on Saturday for lunch.

Braised Lamb:
Into a brasier placein 2 tbsp of oil, lamb meat/bones, sliced onions, handful of radishes and baby potatoes. Season with salt, pepper, cumin and coriander to taste. I love adding in 1/2 a cup of duck sauce but this may be omitted. Mix everything thoroughly cover with a lid and bake at 400F for about 2 hours.
Sirkanis:
2 cups rice
1 can chickpeas
1 Cup of diced beef
1 onion diced
1-2 carrots diced
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup water
1 tbsp salt
1 tbspn chicken consome
Cumin and coriander
Cook covered at 400F for hour and a half mixing 1x after 45 minutes.
In a saucepan sauté 7 crushed garlic with 1/4 cup oil. Pour over rice.
Gefilta Fish with a Moroccan Twist:
Remove frozen gefilta fish from any packaging and place into a deep oven safe dish. Set aside.
In a separate bowl add 1/2 cup of oil, 1 tbsp paprika,1.5 tsp turmeric and 1 tsp of salt. Set aside.
Into a preheated skillet add in 2 tbsp of avocado oil, 4 sliced garlic cloves, 1 red chili pepper, 1 green jalapeno and a few sprigs of parsley. Cook for 1 minute and then add the paprika oil. Mix thoroughly. Add 1.5 cups of water and cook for 3 minutes. Pour the sauce over the fish, cover with foil and bake at 400F for about an hour.
