Daiwa’s New and Improved Ballistic LT Spinning Reel

Daiwa is back with its award-winning Ballistic line of spinning reels with the new 2025 Ballistic LT. New and improved for this year, this saltwater-ready spinning reel uses Daiwa’s proprietary monocoque () frame made of ZAION V carbon fiber for an incredibly lightweight, water-resistant, durable, and rigid single-piece reel chassis. Sticking with the LT, “Light Tough”, design, the new 2025 Ballistic LT has been made as small as possible while still having plenty of strength to fight big fish.

Daiwa Coverage on OutdoorHub

  • The NEW DAIWA 2025 KAGE SV TW Baitcaster
  • DAIWA’s New 8000 to 25000-size 2025 Saltiga Big Game Spinning Reel
  • The DAIWA 24 Coastal SV TW 150 Baitcaster – Now Available

Inside the MQ Frame is the Daiwa Tough Digigear system that uses oversized gears for more surface area and more power. The rotor of the reel uses the Daiwa AIRDRIVE system for a lightweight, compact, and durable rotor with minimal start-up inertia. These features, plus a few others, make for a new compact and powerful spinning reel that has plenty of line capacity and drag capabilities. Beyond functionality updates, the new 2025 Ballistic MQ LT has been cosmetically refreshed with a regal metallic blue and red blend color scheme. DAIWA’s Ballistic MQ LT is available in sizes 1000 to 4000, capable of handling the smallest panfish and trout on up to inshore predators like snook and juvenile tarpon.

“You have to hold the reel in your hand to really appreciate the comfortable compactness,” said Mills. “For example, a 3000-size Ballistic MQ LT feels better fitted and more manageable than a reel said to be the same size from other manufacturers. Then, open the bail and start spinning and you’ll be sold on the total technological package that goes into this special reel.”
