Join me for a night of hot tent camping in heavy rain as I try to stay warm and keep my fire going in the middle of the forest. This was supposed to be a cozy night of solo hot tent camping, but the weather had other plans.
If you’re interested in beginner hot tent camping, this video gives you a real look at what it’s like to set up a hot tent, cook outside, use a wood-burning stove and spend the night camping in wet and challenging weather. Keeping a fire going with soaking-wet firewood turned out to be much harder than expected!
Despite the rain, I made dinner, got the hot tent as cozy as possible and settled in for the night. Sometimes things going wrong are what make a camping trip memorable.
