Ok! I am not claiming this video to be the best, but the end result is delicious!
It started raining as I was making this video. The wind was too strong to put out the awning and move hot coals under it, so all our coals went out.
It’s just the reality of campfire cooking sometimes.
Typically when I make these the chocolate and peanut butter are completely melted at the end.
They were still delicious, though!!
We like s’mores, but this is a great alternative if you want something different.
A couple of notes:
* I’ve tried cutting the bananas multiple ways, and the way I showed in this video is the easiest to keep it from breaking.
* I don’t like cooking with aluminum touching my food because I don’t want it leaching into the food, so I put a layer of unbleached parchment paper inside the foil.
* We use almond butter because we have one kiddo who doesn’t like peanut butter 🤷🏼♀️🤯, but you can use whichever nut butter you prefer. Because we are very whole foods based, we personally use nut butter without any added oils or other ingredients.
* There are endless ways you could change this to suit your taste! For example, try mini marshmallows and chocolate chips in the banana, then sprinkle with graham crackers crumbs. Get creative! Have fun! Enjoy!
So here is the recipe for…

I’m not a chef.
I don’t live on a ranch.
I’m not even a bushcraft expert.
I’m just a mom who has traveled full-time in an RV for more than five years!
Our current rig doesn’t have an oven, and I cook almost all our meals from scratch. In this lifestyle I had to learn campfire cooking, and it quickly became my favorite method of cooking!
So throughout the month of October I am sharing a new recipe each day. Some are dinners, some breakfast, some dessert, and even a few snacks.
We have gluten allergies, so every recipe will be gluten-free. They will be made with whole foods and no processed junk.
We hope you enjoy them!
