Campfire Cooking – Bread, Moose Steak, Baked onion And Peach Cobbler

This is another episode of “Connie’s Camp Cooking” that so many have been requesting. Connie goes all out with one grand campfire cooked meal that left me satisfyingly stuffed. Connie cooks moose steak over coals, sweet potato bread in a skillet over the fire, and one large “heavenly” special recipe onion baked in foil in the campfire coals. We finally wrapped up the evening meal with a peach cobbler that was baked over a fire in a twig stove. Ahhh, an evening to remember, spending a great time with my lovely bride of 30 plus years together.

As promised, the cobbler recipe is below and is a generic recipe that can be used for the fruit of your choice.

======

Easy Generic Cobbler

1 qt. fruit of choice

1 c. flour
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
1/4 tsp. salt
