What’s better than Beef & Bean Burritos! …and Campfire Cooking! This one is a winner for sure! Using our Pathfinder Stainless Steel 10″ Skillet and 120oz Stainless Steel Bush Pot, this recipe was a breeze to cook and absolutely delicious! When cooking over a campfire, having a nice bed of coals you can add or remove to help with the amount of heat necessary is a huge benefit. Make sure whenever you are cooking over a fire, that you give yourself plenty of time to establish a nice coal bed. It’s also a great benefit to have something like our bedroll cooker when cooking over a fire so you can easily raise and lower pots and pans over the heat to again cook at the proper temperature. Beef & Bean Burritos – Charlie’s recipe: Originated in my former in-laws family so long ago that no one knows who Charlie is but it has been a staple in our camp since the late 80’s
1 pound ground beef or venison
1 onion
Jalapeño (optional)
1 can Ranch Style beans
Shredded cheese
Flour Tortillas
Peeled Sliced thinly potatoes
Cooking oil
In a skillet brown meat seasoned to your liking with diced onion when finished drain off fat add beans and cook until hot add cheese remove from heat . In bushpot or m40 heat Cooking oil to frying temp and fry Sliced potatoes until golden brown. I myself like to put meat mixture into warmed Tortilla and serve fried potatoes as a side dish.
