My go-to carry gun for a long time has been some SIG P365 variant, with it being, before this review, an XL slide on a standard grip module. While that was a very compact and low-profile carry option, the ammo capacity and grip length definitely could have been better. Especially when outdoors hunting and fishing, where printing or concealement aren’t the biggest concern. Being able to carry more rounds is always a plus, especially if there are wild hogs or a lot of coyotes in the area. So the Tyrant CNC P365 Snub Nose Grip Module is a new solution for hunters and anglers who own P365s. It’s a longer grip module that lets you use XMACRO 17-rd magazines, while being compatible with all P365 variant slides and holsters. I carried mine on- and off-body for over half a year now, from the mountains to the beach, and just about everywhere in between. Let’s see how it’s done for all that time.

Assembly: Tyrant CNC P365 Snub Nose Grip Module
If you are only swapping out to the Tyrant CNC P365 Grip Module Snub Nose, all you have to do is take the slide off your P365, then push out the single pin holding in the FCU. Then just swap the FCU over to the Snub Nose grip module and reinsert the rear pin to lock it into place. No fitment needed, it is all plug and play, unless you have a model of P365 that has a manual safety. If you do, Tyrant CNC has already molded in a cutout notch for the manual safety, which you can easily dremel out yourself.

Of course, though, I did add some other extras to my P365 from Tyrant CNC, like the flat-faced Intellifire Trigger. While not necessary to add them with your Snub Nose, they are nice little quality of life upgrades and just look cool.

In the Hand: Tyrant CNC P365 Snub Nose Grip Module
In hand, the Tyrant CNC P365 Grip Module Snub Nose honestly feels great. It fits my hands very well, giving me a nice, full grip with all my fingers on the pistol. The texturing of the grip hits the goldilocks zone, of being grippy even with wet, muddy, or sandy hands, but not abrasive. So even when carried without an undershirt, it doesn’t feel like I have a rasp in my belt walking around on shore or in the woods. The profile of the Snub Nose is just wide enough to be comfortable with flatter sides to not sacrifice concealability. Additionally, the undercut of the trigger guard really lets you choke up on the grip nice and high without causing any discomfort on your middle finger.

All of these features in the grip module make for a much more pleasant shooting experience versus my original shorter grip. I felt like I had reduced muzzle flip compared to my other grip module, letting me keep my dot on the target better, especially when practicing with the 147gr HSTs. Lastly, the preinstalled Tyrant CNC mag release is a great touch. It’s oversized and textured, and all-around a nicer mag release than the factory options.

Out in the Woods: Tyrant CNC P365 Snub Nose Grip Module
Normally, I would carry a full-size pistol rather than my P365 when I go hunting. I’m going to be open carrying out there anyway, so why carry a smaller gun for no added benefits? Well, for the last deer and waterfowl season, I carried the Snub Nose instead, either strongside or in my YETI Cayo bag, because I can’t carry it on my hip while wearing waders. While I wasn’t planning on taking a deer with the pistol, the properties I hunt do have a few black bears living on them and plenty of coyotes. Having a pistol with a light on it is just a good peace of mind thing to have on me while walking back to the truck in the dark.

Additionally, when having to go into the briars and privet to follow a blood trail, the snub nose was a lot more handy to take with me while following Maple, the pup, as she tracked the blood trail. That way, if we did get to the deer and it wasn’t down for the count, I had a very capable pistol to help finish the deer off.

Final Thoughts: Tyrant CNC P365 Snub Nose Grip Module
My final thoughts on the Tyrant CNC P365 Snub Nose Grip Module are that for any P365 owner out there who wants a longer grip and added ammo capacity, this is the grip module for you. The fact that you can keep using your existing holsters is huge. Because while the SIG XMacro grip module already exists, it comes with Pic-Rail and isn’t compatible with P365-rail specific lights and holsters. The grip itself is very comfortable to shoot, with great texturing that doesn’t actually hurt you like some other grips when you carry it. Finally, you have the price to consider, for $80, this is a solid option for anyone who wants a larger pistol but doesn’t want to spend the money on another pistol, accessories, mags, and a holster. I highly recommend the Tyrant CNC Snub Nose Grip Module to any hunter, angler, or shooting enthusiast out there.
