AllOutdoor Review: Dead Air RXD22Ti Suppressor

The rimfire suppressor market has gotten pretty stale. Most companies focus on making their cans as “cool” as possible, then nickel and dime you with mounting systems and accessories sold separately. Dead Air and Ruger took a different approach with the RXD22Ti – they built utility and convenience right into the package.

I tested this titanium rimfire can on my Ruger Mark IV Tactical, the same pistol I bought years ago specifically for suppressor use when I picked up my first suppressor, the Dead Air Mask HD. After putting about 100 rounds through the RXD22Ti with various ammunition types, I walked away impressed with what this collaboration produced, even if it didn’t dethrone my beloved Mask. Let’s dive right into the details!

At $499 MSRP, the RXD22Ti sits in competitive territory with other premium rimfire suppressors. The difference is what you get for that money. Where other manufacturers are chasing configuration options and add-on sales, Dead Air focused on utility and user experience. The titanium construction feels solid without adding unnecessary weight. Dead Air’s build quality remains consistent – everything fits tight, finishes are even, and the engineering details show through in heavy use.

The RXD22Ti represents a different approach to rimfire suppression. It’s not trying to be the absolute quietest can on the market, though it’s certainly quiet enough. Instead, it prioritizes the features that make a suppressor more enjoyable to own and use long-term. The included quick-attach system, monocore design for easy cleaning, and quality titanium construction create a package that delivers value beyond just decibel reduction numbers.

“Dead Air Silencers and Ruger® Firearms are two of the most respected names in the shooting sports industry. These great brands came together to offer an entirely new and exciting product line: RXD Suppressors. Dead Air developed this line of performance-driven suppressors and accessories to complement Ruger’s innovative firearms designs. RXD products are not reskins – they represent a new standard for suppressor design, performance, and maintainability.

Dead Air delivers a new standard in rimfire performance: the RXD22Ti. This innovative suppressor is comprised of a Titanium tube, a 3D printed PVD coated single-piece Triskelion™ core, titanium retaining cap and an all-new XRF muzzle brake specially designed to enhance performance and capture lead.”

First Impressions: Dead Air RXD22Ti

Dead Air’s presentation stays consistent across their RXD line. The packaging is clean and professional, with the same attention to detail I noted on the RXD30Ti when I reviewed that. The titanium construction immediately stands out – at 5.6 ounces, this thing is extremely light. You barely notice it on the end of a Mark IV.

The included XRF muzzle device deserves special mention. Most rimfire suppressors either require direct threading or force you to buy mounting systems separately. Dead Air includes their quick-attach system right in the box, which is refreshing in a market full of configuration cash grabs.

Range Time: Dead Air RXD22Ti

I ran the RXD22Ti through its paces with a mixed bag of high-velocity and standard-velocity 22LR ammunition. Both types sounded about the same – pretty quiet, though honestly, my Dead Air Mask HD still edges it out for pure suppression performance.

RXD22Ti

The Mask has always been touted as one of the best rimfire suppressors available, and after owning one for years, I can say it still reigns king in my opinion. The RXD22Ti performs right alongside other competing cans in terms of sound reduction. Where it differentiates itself is in the features that matter for regular use.

Reliability was flawless throughout testing. The Mark IV cycled everything I fed it without issues, and the suppressor showed no signs of the sparking you typically see with titanium suppressors during break-in periods.

The single-piece Triskelion core design makes a huge difference in maintenance. Instead of dealing with individual baffle stacks that need to be cleaned and reassembled in the correct order, you’ve got one piece that comes apart and goes back together without any guesswork.

RXD22Ti

You can do the math on how much easier this makes cleaning compared to traditional baffle designs. For a rimfire suppressor that’s going to see regular use, this convenience factor matters more than you might initially think.

The XRF Muzzle Device

This is where the RXD22Ti really shines. The XRF muzzle brake isn’t just functional – it’s plain cool. There aren’t many rimfire-specific muzzle devices on the market, and this one works great while adding a quick-attach capability that most rimfire shooters have been wanting.

Installation and removal are straightforward. The steep taper angle creates solid lockup with minimal torque, and you can hand-tighten the suppressor onto the mount with confidence it’ll stay put.

Final Thoughts: Dead Air RXD22Ti

The RXD22Ti proves that innovation in the rimfire suppressor market doesn’t have to mean chasing the last fraction of a decibel. Sometimes the better approach is building a suppressor that’s easier to live with day-to-day.

While my Dead Air Mask HD still holds the crown for pure suppression performance, the RXD22Ti offers a compelling alternative for shooters who value convenience and features alongside solid sound reduction. The collaboration between Dead Air and Ruger produced a suppressor that addresses real-world user needs rather than just spec sheet bragging rights. If you’re looking for a premium rimfire suppressor that includes everything you need right in the box and makes maintenance a breeze, the RXD22Ti deserves serious consideration.

In closing, I want to say thank you to Dead Air Silencers and Ruger for allowing AllOutdoor and myself the opportunity to try out their RXD22Ti suppressor. That is greatly appreciated. Also, we would like to know what all of you guys and gals think? Do you believe that this rimfire suppressor is worth spending your money on? Would you run this on your rimfire setup?
