Nothing beats Japanese Katsu! Here’s how to make it
I don’t always agree with mukouda’s cooking methods in campfire cooking in another world with my absurd skill but he nailed this one
Recipe
– boneless pork chops
– Japanese breadcrumbs
– 1/2 cup flour
– 2 beaten eggs
– salt and pepper
– neutral oil for frying
– shredded cabbage
Start by tenderizing the pork with the back of your knife. Season generously with salt and pepper and let sit from about 30 minutes. Pat the pork completely dry before coating in either flour or cornstarch. Dip it into beaten egg and coat thoroughly. Next add it to a bowl of breadcrumbs. Really press the panko in hard. Mukoda did a double layer and he’s a real one for that, but instead of dipping it back in flour, just take a spray bottle with either sake or water and lightly spray the breaded cutlet then apply more breadcrumbs crumbs. Thus moisture will evaporate quickly while frying. Fry at about 320F until internal temp reaches 140F. The temperature will continue to rise about 5 degrees while it rests. Slice and top with tonkatsu sauce. NOT SPONSORED but I like the @bulldogsauce_official_global you can find it at most Asian grocery stores
Serve with you finely shredded cabbage with a pinch of salt and enjoy!
Toss @jakoby.ds a follow because y’all have hated on me a lot for not liking this show but he changed my mind 😂
