Join me on a solo adventure into the heart of the Lake District in my MAN TGE 4×4 self build camper van, where I set up camp and settle in for a night of heavy rain, campfire cooking and the beautiful surroundings of the mountains.
With the rain coming down, I get the fire going and cook a meal outdoors while enjoying the atmosphere of camping in some seriously wet conditions. Sheltered under my awning with the camping lights on makes for a really cosy watch. I also head out to a nearby lake for a wild swim, an unforgettable experience in the heart of the Lake District!
The following day, after an extremely wet night, I pack up the MAN TGE and head for Red Screes to hike to the summit. The weather had a very different mood this time around, with incredibly strong winds making the conditions on the mountain challenging and dramatic.
From 4×4 van camping and campfire cooking in heavy rain, to wild swimming and hiking Red Screes, this Lake District adventure had everything from peaceful moments around the fire to some pretty wild mountain weather.
