Howard Leight Introduces New Impact Sport In-Ear Hearing Protection

Hearing protection is high on the priority list of items to take with you to the range. Howard Leight has had what seems like one of the most popular over-the-ear electronic hearing protection products for a long time. Now they are introducing a new line of Impact Sport In-Ear hearing protection options for all types of shooters.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our products and the technology we have pioneered over the years, But despite the longevity our products enjoy, we’re not relenting. Ongoing research, development, and innovation will continue as hallmarks of the Howard Leight brand. We pledge to offer new technologies and styles in both hearing and eye protection, but regardless of what our line looks like, it will always be comprised of well-designed, reliable, stylish, long-lasting products. That’s what we’ve done consistently, and it’s what our customers expect.

The new in-ear hearing protection will feature a single cord that serves to both hosts the earbuds controls as well as tether them to your neck when not wearing them. The earbuds feature a Noise Reduction Rating of 29 dB, a rechargeable 200 MAh lithium battery, hear-through volume control, automatic attenuation of dangerous sounds over 85 dB, a highly comfortable fit, and great retail prices below $170.

The Standard model features all the same hearing protection and noise mitigation and sound amplification you’ve come to expect from the Impact Sport over-the-ear models but with a much lighter and low profile design that won’t make your head sweat in hot summer months. The standard model will be sold for an MSRP of $120 while the Bluetooth-equipped model will sell for $165.00. Each set of hearing protection will come with a soft-sided carrying case.

I much prefer the in-the-ear hearing protection options over the over-the-ear ones simply because they are more comfortable and don’t make my head sweat. An additional bonus is that the in-the-ear options also tend not to interfere with getting a solid cheek weld on a rifle stock which makes for fewer complications on the range.
