Shimano’s New 2025 Tranx 300 B – New Standard in Baitcasting
Shimano has released the all-new Tranx 300 B, a low-profile baitcaster that has been loaded up with Shimano’s advanced tech to make a reel that can handle both fresh and saltwater fishing. The 2025 Tranx 300 B frame has been redesigned with a CoreSolid Body and KGN Body tech, a one-piece construction frame made of the HAGANE alloy. Making for an incredibly rigid and sensitive reel that has virtually no flex when fighting big fish. Inside the frame of the reel are the MicroModule Gears and Cross Carbon Drag, for a very smooth reel that is durable and has tons of cranking power, with a smooth drag system that won’t overheat and burn out while fighting large fish.

“The Tranx 300 B delivers the versatility and performance anglers need to adapt to any situation, whether throwing big swimbaits for trophy bass or battling saltwater bruisers like striped bass and tarpon,” said Blaine Anderson, Shimano Saltwater Marketing Manager.
For excellent casting performance, Shimano’s Super Free Spool, S3D Spool tech, and SVS Infinity MD Tune braking system lets anglers have a top-quality casting experience with an easily tuned braking system and reel spool that has virtually no vibration or friction during the cast. To top it all off all models of the Tranx 300 B come with X-Protect technology to make sure the elements stay out, letting this reel fish season after season with no issues. The Tranx 300 B baitcast reels are available now with an MSRP of $300.
Shimano 2025 Tranx 300 B Baitcast Reel Key Features
- MicroModule Gears – Creates a smooth retrieve by utilizing smaller teeth to increase the contact points between the drive gear and pinion gear.
- CoreSolid Body – Integrates the B-Side Plate, levelwind guard, and frame into a solid one-piece construction. This delivers an unprecedented feeling of rigidity and sensitivity.
- KGN Body – The HAGANE Body is a metal reel body with high rigidity. The body rigidity and impact resistance virtually eliminate body flexing on the reel while fighting fish.
- Cross Carbon Drag – Provides a wider range of drag settings than traditional drag materials. The Cross Carbon Drag provides the smoothest Shimano drag performance ever, providing anglers with increased durability.
- S3D Spool – Leads to significantly reduced spool vibration by designing and constructing a balanced and uniform thin-wall aluminum spool.
- S A-RB Baitcasting – S A-RB bearings are put through the same process as Shimano’s A-RB bearings but feature shields on both sides of the bearings.
- Super Free Spool – Eliminates friction on the spool shaft during the cast. A ball bearing supports the pinion gear. When the clutch is disengaged in preparation for a cast, the pinion gear and spool shaft are kept in perfect alignment. This results in zero friction being placed upon the spool shaft and enhances casting performance.
- Hagane Gear – Cold-forged, extremely durable, and wear-resistant alloy from Shimano
- X-Protect – Aids in preventing water from entering internal structures and helps reduce the risk of corrosion
