The DAIWA 24 Coastal SV TW 150 Baitcaster – Now Available
DAIWA‘s new salt-focused Coastal SV TW 150 premium baitcaster is now available. Building on the Coastal lineup, the new Coastal SV TW 150 fits right in as a utilitarian workhorse that can handle most inshore tasks. This is a midweight baitcaster that has been loaded with features to work great with midsized lures. That way, anglers don’t have to repurpose freshwater reels in the harsher salt environment. This reel features corrosion resistant ball bearings (CRBB), shielded ball bearings that keep sand and grit out, to make for a true saltwater grade reel. That, plus DAIWA’s hyperdrive high-strength brass gearing, makes for an incredibly tough reel that only needs a rinse of freshwater after each fishing season to keep on going for years to come.
“It hits that sweet spot in the middle,” said DAIWA Field Marketing Manager, Chris Martin, about the COASTAL SV TW 150’s not too big, not too small stature. “The new ergonomic 100 size frame feels comfortable and secure in the hand, while the 150 capacity spool provides added line capacity.”
The Coastal SV TW 150 comes in standard and high-speed gear ratio models, with left- or right-handed reel options available. All four reels come with a max drag of 11 lbs and have an MSRP of $279.99. These are available for purchase now at any DAIWA dealer.
DAIWA 24 Coastal SV TW 150 Key Features
- SV Technology– A SV (Stress-Free, Versatile) A7075 aircraft-grade spool designed for casting control. The spool design and interaction with the braking system give max control and increase casting distance.
- Hyperdrive Armed Housing – A distortion-proof aluminum frame that keeps gearing in perfect alignment and improves the lifespan of the reel.
- Hyperdrive Digigear– A technology that makes gear teeth more efficient at transferring power, resulting in a smoother, more powerful gear set that reduces gear noise. Larger teeth strengthen the gears in the traction wheel.
- Hyperdrive Tough Clutch – The clutch mechanics have been optimized to remain safely in position even on hard casts.
- T-Wing System (TWS) – An innovative “T” shaped mechanical aperture, unique to DAIWA, that the line passes through when casting and retrieving baits, which allows the line to flow freely,
- CRBB – DAIWA’s CRBB ball bearings are shielded to seal out sand, fine grit, salt crystals, and other abrasives for a longer life. Making them 12 times more corrosion-resistant than standard ball bearings.
- Ultimate Tournament Drag (UTD) – The sophisticated drag system uses carbon washers, alloy, stainless steel drag plates, and special lubricants to provide smooth performance. UTD prevents sticking when dragging starts and stable drag for the duration of fighting a fish.
- Zero Adjuster – The spool tension knob comes ideally preset at the factory to match the model and reduce backlash when casting into the wind or with lighter lures. However, anglers can fine-tune the spool tension to their personal preferences.
- Left or Right Hand models are available, as well as high-speed models.
- 100mm Swept Handle – The increased torque turns the barrel more easily. The handle also utilizes comfortable Soft Touch Knobs.
