Yeti Buys Mystery Ranch
Yeti, known for their outdoor coolers, dry bags, and ramblers, announces that they have signed an agreement to acquire Mystery Ranch. Disclosed to investors in January, Yeti announced, “Leading global designer and manufacturer of outdoor gear announces agreement to acquire high-performance backpack company.” The brand Mystery Ranch makes some of the best load-bearing gear for outdoorsmen, military, and first responders. The backpack designer and manufacturer is based out of Bozeman, Montana. In a statement published in the press release, Yeti says, “YETI’s passion for innovation and the outdoors aligns closely with our founding vision,” said Dana Gleason, Co-Founder of MYSTERY RANCH. “Renée Sippel-Baker, my co-founder, and I know they are a perfect partner to build upon our long history of making the best load-bearing equipment in the world for the most extreme users as well as the everyday mission.” The Mystery Ranch team will work with Yeti over the coming months to combine operations and day-to-day duties.
While this may seem like a peculiar acquisition for Yeti. It speaks to their overall vision for a fully integrated outdoor brand. They have been producing outdoor bags since 2017 and have continued to evolve its offers ever since. Mystery Ranch, known for its military 3 ZIP assault packs, also produces various hiking and hunting packs. Durability is the mainline that runs through each of these brands, and it will be fascinating to see where they take one another.
