The United States has been the undisputed leader of the world ever since the Cold War ended. We have been able to significantly influence the behavior of other nations, if not downright push them into submission, because our military and economic strength has been far enough ahead of any other nation in the world. Even though many people within our own borders have disagreed with the United States’ stance, it has helped to maintain global balance, if not always peace.
