Deep Snow Primitive Survival Camping in Mountains – Campfire Cooking on Shovel

My 4 year old sons and I flew to Utah and traveled deep into the Rockys for some deep snow in the mountains. We love these backcountry trips and this one was one of our best ever. I even managed to bust out some new campfire cooking recipes for campfire corn dogs and campfire doughnuts. And I cooked campfire beef fajitas using our aluminum survival shovel.

Here is our Fajita Marinade Recipe
1/4 Cup Orange Juice
1/4 Cup Lime Juice
2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
3 Tablespoons Olive Oil or Canola Oil
4 Cloves of Garlic minced
2 1/2 Teaspoons Cumin
2 Teaspoons Chili Powder (optional)
1 Teaspoon Smoked Paprika
2 Teaspoons Kosher Salt
2 Pound Flank Steak

Here is the Corn Dog Batter Recipe
1 cup corn meal
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 large egg
1 1/4 cups buttermilk
2 tablespoons butter melted
