2021 ATA Virtual Show – Introducing the Ravin R500 Crossbow
Ravin Crossbows are turning heads in 2021, and it’s safe to say they’re doing so faster than ever before! The new Ravin R500 crossbow is shattering industry standards in speed, and boasts unmatched performance in the most compact bow ever built.
In the video below, Dave from Ravin Crossbows sits downs with Lancaster Archery Supply during the virtual 2021 ATA show to talk more about the “first-ever bow to hit over 500 FPS.” And while the show has taken on an entirely different look and feel, this reveal is still making waves!
Featuring the new proprietary HexCoil Cam System, the R500 is able to produce staggering speeds of 500 feet per second with a 400 grain arrow, and has an axle-to-axle width of 3.6 inches when cocked and 7.6 inches when uncocked.
“We’re not about about advertising ‘up to’ any speed. We guarantee that your bow is going to deliver shooting 500 FPS,” Dave adds.
The series includes the upgradable R500 (MSRP: $3,49.99), R500E (with Ravin Electric Drive System; MSRP: $3,349.99), R500 Sniper (with Ravin Adjustable Turret Scope, Scope Level, and .001 Premium Arrows; MSRP: $3,449.99) and the top-of-the-line R500E Sniper (MSRP: $3,749.99), with a complete set of features and accessories.
Along with unmatched speed and dimensions, the R500E has the new Ravin Electric Drive System, that allows users to simply press a button to cock and decock this crossbow, with the option to manually cock the crossbow with the included R500 Draw Handle. The Ravin Electric Drive consists of a 12-volt battery and motor unit that simply attach and detach to the stock. Both the battery and the motor unit can be easily detached for storage or to recharge on the charging dock.
The R500E also utilizes Ravin’s new VersaDrive Cocking system, which consists of a dual screw drive that moves the Trac Trigger Firing System (TTFS) back and forth. The internal clutch within the VersaDrive System eliminates over-cocking and allows cocking or decocking to be stopped at any time during the process.
“The advancements we’ve made in technology are truly remarkable,” says Doug Guthrie, head of New Product Development for Ravin. “These breakthroughs allow our customers to shatter the 500 feet per second threshold in a crossbow that’s even smaller than ever before possible. With the introduction of the Electric Drive System—being able to cock and decock with the push of a button—hunters and shooters gain flexibility in the field, benefit from streamlined ease-of-use, and enjoy top of the line accuracy with every shot.”
The R500 series of bows come in Slate Gray and will be available Spring 2021. The real question is, are you will to pay the spendy $3K MSRP? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
